TERMS & CONDITIONS
By booking a class, becoming a member, or using any of our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. GENERAL CONDITIONS
1.1 Studio Environment

Mercy Pottery is a shared creative space.
-
All participants must treat fellow students, instructors, tools, and the space with respect.
-
We reserve the right to refuse service or remove any participant who behaves inappropriately, disrupts the studio, or disrespects others.
1.2 Health & Safety
-
Closed-toe shoes are required in the studio.
-
All participants must follow studio safety guidelines.
-
Please inform us of any medical condition that may affect your participation.
1.3 Age Requirement
-
All participants must be 15 years or older unless otherwise specified.
1.4 Personal Belongings
-
Mercy Pottery is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
-
Keep valuables with you or at home.
1.5 Photography & Social Media
-
We occasionally take photos and videos for promotional purposes.
-
By participating in any session, you grant us permission to use your image.
-
If you prefer not to be photographed, let us know upon arrival.
1.6 Learning Philosophy
-
Ceramics can be challenging.
-
Mistakes, imperfections, and unexpected results are part of the process.
-
We encourage patience, experimentation, and an open mind.
1.7 Communication

All studio communication will come from:

1.8 Payment & Cancellations
-
Full payment is required to secure your place.
-
You may cancel up to 5 business days before the class or workshop to receive a 90% refund.
-
Cancellations after this window are non-refundable unless the session is cancelled by Mercy Pottery.
2. WORKSHOPS
2.1 Booking & Payment
-
Full payment is required in advance to confirm your spot.
-
Refunds are available only for cancellations made at least 5 business days prior to the start date (90% refund).
-
No refunds are given for late cancellations or no-shows unless canceled by Mercy Pottery.
2.2 Format & Attendance
-
Workshops follow a set schedule—please review dates before booking.
-
Attendance is essential. If you plan to miss multiple sessions, we recommend joining a future workshop.
-
Notify your instructor on the first day if you’ll miss a session to explore possible make-up options.
2.3 Finished Pieces
-
Pieces will be ready for pickup 4 to 6 weeks after your final session.
-
We treat all work with care, but ceramics is unpredictable. Cracks, glaze defects, and breakage may occur.
-
Mercy Pottery is not responsible for damage or flaws resulting from the firing process.
2.4 Pickup Window
-
Once notified, you have 30 days to pick up your pieces.
-
Unclaimed items may be discarded due to limited storage space.
3. MEMBERSHIPS
3.1 Eligibility
-
Memberships are for intermediate and advanced potters who can work independently.
-
A basic orientation or approval may be required before joining.
3.2 Billing & Renewals
-
Memberships are billed monthly and renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
-
You may cancel at any time, but no refunds or partial credits will be issued for unused time.
3.3 Studio Use
-
Members may use the studio during designated member hours.
-
These hours are subject to change due to workshops, events, or other studio needs.
-
Any changes will be communicated in advance.
3.4 Membership Format
Each membership includes:

A set number of 2-hour guided sessions per billing cycle
-
Access to studio tools, materials, glazes, and some firings
Policies:
-
Sessions must be booked in advance to manage studio capacity.
-
Unused sessions do not roll over and will expire at the end of each billing cycle.
-
If you use all your sessions, you may purchase additional ones at a fixed rate.
-
Memberships auto-renew monthly unless canceled in advance.
3.5 Guided Instruction
-
Membership includes guided instruction, meaning staff are available for support and feedback.
-
Sessions are self-paced and not structured like formal classes.
-
Members are expected to manage their own projects and follow studio procedures.
3.6 Shared Space & Conduct
-
The studio is a shared space—members must clean up after themselves and respect others.
-
Repeated violations of conduct or policy may result in suspension or termination of membership.
3.7 Guests
-
Guests are not allowed to use the studio during member hours unless approved in advance.
3.8 Termination
-
Mercy Pottery reserves the right to suspend or terminate a membership for failure to follow policies or compromising the safety and integrity of the studio.
4. FIRING SERVICES
Mercy Pottery offers limited firing services under the following conditions:
4.1 Cone 6 Only
-
We fire exclusively to Cone 6 (mid-fire).
-
We do not fire low-fire or high-fire work.
4.2 Clay & Glaze Verification
-
You must submit clear photos of both the clay box and glaze containers showing their recommended firing temperature.
-
If this information is not provided, we will not fire your work.
4.3 Firing Schedule
-
We cannot guarantee a specific firing timeline.
-
Member work and workshops have priority.
-
Please plan accordingly and allow flexibility.
4.4 No Large-Scale Production
-
We do not accept bulk production orders.
-
Firing is available only for small batches, members, and students.
4.5 Kiln Shelf Damage
-
If a piece melts, drips, or fuses to a kiln shelf due to improper glazing or not cleaning the base:
-
You will be charged 50% of the replacement cost of the affected shelf.
